How do I extract a color from a photo?

Open Paletio and tap the camera icon. Choose a photo or use live camera. Tap anywhere on the image to sample a color and save it to your palette.

How do I mix or compare two paints?

Go to Mix Mode, select two or more saved colors, then adjust sliders to preview realistic mixes using color theory models.

Quick Help

Extract a color from a photo: Tap the camera on home → pick an image → tap to sample → Save.
Mix or compare paints: Open Mix Mode → pick 2+ colors → adjust sliders to preview the result.
Keep multiple droppers active: In the extractor, long‑press to pin a dropper; repeat to add up to five.
Reset palettes: Settings → Reset Saved Palettes.

Troubleshooting

Camera or Photos permission denied

Go to Settings > Paletio and enable Camera and Photos access.

We only use these to select images or sample colors. No photos leave your device.

Colors look different than real paint

Screen colors are emissive, while paints are reflective. Paletio simulates real‑world mixing, but lighting and pigment brand vary. Compare under neutral lighting and calibrate using a gray card if possible.

App crashed or froze

Force‑quit and reopen Paletio. If it persists, open a ticket and include iOS version, Paletio version, and steps to reproduce.

Does Paletio work offline?

Yes. Core features like color sampling, palette management, and local simulations work offline.

Which paints are supported?

v1 targets acrylic. Watercolor and oil support are planned next.

Can I import by hex code?
